A newly created full time permanent position has become available within the Strategic Procurement team at AGL. Internally referred to as the Category Specialist - Integrated Energy, this role is responsible for establishing the category strategy, sourcing and development of commercial agreements, tendering, negotiation, and ongoing category management.
You will support the Integrated Energy portfolio with supporting renewable transition, with investments of over $20 billion in the next decade. Integrated Energy represents AGL's diverse portfolio of power generation and gas assets, including our renewable energy assets with a focus on taking action to power a sustainable energy future for our investors, communities, and customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the execution of Category plans and sourcing strategies for group wide reviews, providing support as a key champion of AGL Strategic Procurement
- Perform accurate data analysis and analytical support to ensure alignment to Category Strategy
- Perform the execution of Strategic Sourcing activities (including negotiation and contracting) within the AGL Integrated Energy category
- Partnering with business stakeholders to deliver successful and best value sourcing outcomes from development of effective sourcing strategies to engagement in line with AGL policies
- Support contract governance and management to realise agreed commercial outcomes
About You
You will be an experienced procurement specialist, with demonstrated experience using tools to take data and present it to the business to make meaningful decisions. You will be a collaborative team player, who is willing to learn and be part of a growing energy business. In addition, you will have the ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders where you will take the knowledge of the business drivers and assist the business in translating these into requirements for inclusion in tender documents.
What you'll bring to the table:
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills including highly developed written and presentation skills
- Experience with data analysis for effective evaluation of decision making and cost comparison
- Negotiating and influencing in a consultative and constructive manner
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with other departments and external agencies
- Developed and communicated complex Sourcing and Negotiation Strategies to stakeholders
- Experience in a procurement position with the energy sector and/or similar regulated environment would be highly regarded
- Working knowledge of SAP or sourcing modules (such as Ariba) would be helpful (but not essential)
- Tertiary qualifications associated with Procurement; Business, Commerce or Law is preferred
- MCIPS Procurement qualification is desirable
