Manager - Virtual Learning

About the Role
The department is committed to ensuring that all students, no matter where they live, have access to a high-quality education. Equity and Excellence: realising the potential of every student (the Education Strategy) sets a clear vision for a progressive, high performing education system.
A key whole-of-system initiative in the Education Strategy is digital innovation in teaching and learning, specifically the establishment of a virtual academy to enhance access across the state to teaching expertise.
The QVA's objective is to support a state-wide, cohesive approach to increasing equity in student access to curriculum pathways, learning opportunities, and teaching expertise. The QVA enhances access and increased connection to learning opportunities for students regardless of where they live by leveraging digital and virtual learning.
The manager role will perform a key role within the QVA project in managing governance, reporting and communications within the QVA engagement and communications strategy associated with the implementation of the QVA.

**What you need to succeed**:

- Coordinate and lead governance and reporting processes associated with the QVA as initiative within Equity and Excellence strategy.
- Provide high-level policy and strategic advice on matters.
- Lead the planning and implementation of the QVA communication and engagement strategy.
- Undertake wide-ranging project work relating to the implementation of the Queensland Virtual Academy.
- Work effectively with the QVA principal (when appointed) and emerging QVA team.
- Participate in strategic and business planning in order to support the delivery of the QVA services and operations.
- Identify emerging strategic issues and ensure effective communication with stakeholders.
- Prepare briefings and correspondence on a range of matters.

**Specifically, the ideal applicant will need to demonstrate**:

- Corporate insight and agility to work in a high profile and evolving strategic landscape.
- Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate with a range of school and corporate stakeholders within a complex project, to develop effective support and solutions to deliver the QVA initiative within time and cost limitations.
- Proven ability to coordinate, develop and quality assure content and materials in implementing a communication strategy across arrange of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build and sustain productive and effective relationships with a network of key stakeholders internal and external to the department.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare briefings and submissions, and to liaise and negotiate with a diverse range of stakeholders on complex and sensitive issues.
- Passion for organisation and attention to detail.
