Pier 10 Winery is seeking a Cellar Door Manager to join our small, dedicated team at our stunning vineyard in Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula. Thursday - Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm, with additional days over Summer.

Pier 10 Winery is seeking a Cellar Door Sales Manager to join our small, dedicated Cellar Door team at our stunning vineyard in Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula.

We are a relaxed, family-owned and operated winery producing handcrafted estate-grown cool-climate wines.

The role will be a permanent part-time position. Our opening hours are Thursday - Sunday from 11 am - 5 pm, with additional days over Summer.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

- Provide exceptional customer service whilst maximising wine sales.
- Grow revenue, our customer database and contribute to innovative upselling.
- Build relationships with repeat customers and our loyal base of locals.
- Manage a calendar to schedule bookings for wine tastings. Manage walk-in tastings and sales customers.
- Drive/coordinate new and repeat bookings from tour companies, individuals and groups.
- Host wine tastings and ensure the smooth operational running of the cellar door.
- Monitor cellar door stock levels and be able to restock wine and lift boxes of wine.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely despatch of all wine orders placed at the Cellar Door and via phone/website. Either through Australia Post/courier or local hand delivery.
- Ensure polite and friendly interaction with all customers, fellow staff and management.
- Manage solid and productive relationships with members of the Pier 10 team, including our winemaker and restaurant staff.
- Leading, training and motivating the cellar door team, including rostering and managing staff performance.
- Ensure cellar door presentation standards are always kept to a high level.
- Procure any incidentals deemed necessary for smooth operations (cleaning products, wine bags, stationery etc.)
- Adhere to RSA policies and workplace health and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

- Current Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
- Qualifications in a wine or hospitality-related discipline.
- WSET training is highly regarded but not essential.

Skills & Experience:

- A passion for wine and wine knowledge.
- Previous wine/hospitality industry experience.
- Knowledge of Australian fine wine varietals and styles, the Mornington Peninsula region and its offerings.
- Keen attention to detail, energetic personality and interpersonal customer service skills.
- MS Office and POS systems.
