**About the role**

Ventia's contract with the Department of Justice are seeking a collaborative and engaging **Commercial and Contract Compliance Manager** to join the Court Security & Custodial Services (CS&CS) team based in Canning Vale, Western Australia.

Working as an integral part of the contract Senior Management Team (SMT), this position is primarily responsible for supporting the Contract Director in managing the commercial relationships within the Western Australia Court Security and Custodial Services Contract to yield sustainable outcomes.

Ensuring all compliance, commercial and legal aspects associated with the CS&CS Contract are preserved and/or improved focusing on conformance and performance, to deliver the legal and contractual obligations and assist in the operation's target EBITDA requirements.

The services performed are undertaken across the entire state of Western Australia so there may be some travel required.

**Key duties but not limited to**:

- Establish and maintain effective relations with the Client, internal and external key stakeholders and ensure all relationships are being managed in a professional and diligent manner
- Enhance appropriate Performance Management and Contract Compliance framework and procedures for the contract and advise managers at all levels on appropriate steps
- Manage and report appropriate metrics for measuring contract performance (e.g., KPI's and Specified Events)
- Regularly review and evaluate operational adherence to policies and regulations
- Perform performance audits of all key obligations and recommend and monitor corrective actions where required and regularly update the Contract Director for non-compliance
- Assist, develop and negotiate new contractual arrangements where required and leverage contract opportunities
- Monitor financial performance in conjunction the Finance Manager by conducting financial analysis (including trend analysis) on service delivery
- Prepare Client and Stakeholder progress and performance reports - monthly, quarterly (Board) and annually (Publicly accessible)
- Monitor contract compliance with company's policies and procedures in relation to legal, financial and administration matters
- Provide functional input into the development, review, negotiation, and implementation of service improvement, referencing legal, corporate citizenship, corporate governance, and commercial considerations in order to gain the best possible return for the contract
- Provide guidance, development, mentoring and coaching to the Professional Standards Team

**Skills and experience**:

- Tertiary qualification in an applicable discipline Business, Commerce and/or Legal (or significant experience in a similar role and high paced environment)
- Knowledge of Commercial/Contract requirements, principles and practices (incl. budgets)
- High level of computer skills and report writing (including MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint and other software programs)
- Relevant experience in contract/commercial preparation and negotiation
- Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level, engaging within contract and client groups
- Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge/interpretation of Laws; Contracts; Acts; Regulations and Standards
