**About our opportunity**

Our Asset Management team are responsible for more than 1,800 assets across the City of Moreton Bay region including roads, footpaths, public amenities, buildings, waste management facilities, street lighting, coastal walls and jetties.

As our Team Leader Innovation, you'll be a hands on leader, providing technical leadership to a small team to deliver innovative projects and business process improvement initiatives using artificial intelligence and machine learning, from business case development, pilot studies, to development and physical deployment of technology, software and business improvement processes. You'll be providing leadership and direction in equipment/product selection, testing, procurement, data validation, quality control, business process re-engineering, change and risk management and continuous improvement.

You'll also be:

- Leading the design, development and implementation of computer vision and data predictive machine learning models, including field deployment, capture and assessment of technology
- Providing specialist advice, technical review and technical mentorship to the team
- Creating and maintaining accurate system documentation including technical and user guides and problem and resolution knowledge bases
- Building strong relationships and working collaboratively across the broader Asset Management, Technology Services and Asset Maintenance teams
- Providing input to the design of program architecture in alignment with Council's existing ICT solutions and architecture
- Remaining current with relevant new and innovative technologies and approaches
- Developing team capability to drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused team culture.

This is a hybrid role, the **team work together in the office on Tuesdays and Thursday** to support collaboration and knowledge sharing.

**About you**

This is a great opportunity to share your knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and to demonstration your experience in developing solutions for **Cloud platforms (e.g. AWS & Azure)** and writing high quality **code (e.g., C#, Python)**. Your technical team leadership and project management drives high performance and delivers successful project outcomes.

You'll also have:

- Sound knowledge and experience with data analytics tools and platforms and creating data models
- High attention to detail working with large volumes of data
- Ability to research and evaluate new technologies and develop benefits analysis and business cases
- Ability to laterally think through challenges and present effective and efficient solutions
- Knowledge of system implementation, business intelligence reporting, change management practices and business process re-engineering
- Knowledge of asset management principles or ability to learn quickly
- Experience working within DevOps and Agile delivery environments
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Current C class driver's licence (required)
