About the job

Are you a credible and established people leader? We seek an individual with the passion to lead diverse, multiskilled teams at our Kwinana Refinery as a Production Superintendent This role is predominantly overseeing the refineries port and rail operation but also links directly with the calcination team to form a cohesive bond by also overseeing the equipment care team for all areas.

You will ensure balanced achievement of operating targets and lead systematic problem solving to increase the overall effectiveness of equipment and people. With an increasing focus on improving the operation we are seeking a Superintendent with the ability to effectively support the area through organisational change as well as manage the existing operations.

Key responsibilities include;- Daily functions involving safety, environment, people management, budget planning, cost and forecasting control- Linking and translating the area objectives into achievable activity plans, empowering personnel to achieve by creating, implementing, sustaining, and improving effective management systems to meet customer and business needs- Responsibility for shipping forecasts in conjunction with Alcoa's shipping and logistics team, liaising with the Fremantle Port Authority, Australia Boarder Force, and other local government departments- Effective management of resources through collection and interpretation of data and development and monitoring of appropriate plans and budgets is required- Leading supervisors, our people, resources and external service providers to effectively plan and execute area maintenance activities and all equipment management strategies- Delivering effective leadership and management practices in the area while generating a focus on results through teamwork is an integral part of this role, as is the ongoing development of all employees within- Working closely with the technical department to blend product to meet or exceed all customer service expectations for final product loaded

About you

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
- A thorough understanding of Daily Visual Management, Business Improvement and Change Management principles- An effective approach to change management leading to positive outcomes and sustained employee engagement- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build, develop, and inspire success in teams, inclusive of coaching and mentoring,- The capacity to lead and think strategically as well as operationally to ensure maximum efficiency- Demonstrated confidence, initiative, and sound judgement within a customer-focused framework-
- A proven ability to manage multiple and varied tasks in an efficient manner is essential.- Tertiary qualifications in both the science/engineering and business management fields will be well regarded.
