**About your new role**

We are looking for an experienced, motivated and high performing Head of Financial Crime Assurance to lead our Line 2 Financial Crime Assurance function. This role reports to the General Manager, Financial Crime and can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Gold Coast. This role will play a critical role in driving efforts to improve the effectiveness of our financial crime controls and processes.
- Lead the development and execution of The Star's Financial Crime assurance methodology and annual test plan.
- Oversee the preparation of high quality assurance reports identifying issues, areas for improvement and recommending control and process improvements.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure commitment to compliance with The Star's financial crime program through periodic testing of key financial crime controls and processes and effectively communicating testing results and recommendations.
- Ensure the use of best practice approaches to promote and strengthen a culture of financial crime risk awareness.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- At least 10 years' experience in a financial crime policy, assurance, compliance, or risk management role in a casino / gaming or wagering environment, bank, corporation, or government agency.
- Substantial, in-depth experience within financial crime assurance.
- A deep understanding of AML/CTF, anti-bribery & corruption and sanctions legislation and regulations.
- A proven track record of successfully influencing and managing a team.
- Previous experience within the Casino, Banking or Audit sector is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to delivery projects in a timely manner whilst overcoming hurdles and complex issues.
