Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria.
This position is located at the Community Forensic Mental Health Service (CFMHS) in Clifton Hill, 15 minutes from Melbourne's city centre. CFMHS is a specialist state-wide agency that works with individuals who have a serious mental health illness and have offended or are at risk of offending.
**About the Role**:
The Forensic Clinical Specialist Program (FCSP) was established in 2010 by the Department of Health, to build forensic mental health expertise and capacity in Victoria's specialist mental health services. The FCSP Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the work of forensic clinical specialists across services, and in contributing to the development of the program. The position works closely with the Department of Health and other key stakeholders such as AMHS, Community Mental Health Support Services (CMHSS - formerly known as PDRSS), consumers, and the Criminal Justice System. The FCSP Coordinator is also a member of the CFMHS leadership team.
**Duties**:
- Provides oversight and leadership to ensure a consistent and standardised approach to the Forensic Clinical Specialist positions in keeping with their specialist functions.
- Provides expert secondary consultation to support the AMHS Forensic Clinical Specialists in undertaking complex assessments and development of management plans.
- Provides primary and secondary consultations to AMHS regarding high risk clients who are referred through Forensicare's intake process as required.
- Provides direct programmatic supervision that includes debriefing support for AMHS Forensic Clinical Specialists.
- Coordinates the provision of a comprehensive orientation program for newly appointed AMHS Forensic Clinical Specialists as staff turnover in these positions takes place.
**About You**:
- Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments and to plan, implement and evaluate clinical interventions.
- Experience working at a senior level in forensic mental health and detailed knowledge of forensic mental health risk assessment.
- Highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to consult, liaise, facilitate and negotiate with key stake holders, mental health professionals, clients, and carers.

Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
Demonstrated minimum 5 year post registration mental health experience.
