**Role Summary**

AUKUS is a trilateral capital programme to develop new nuclear submarine capability in the IndoPacific region. AtkinsRéalis has a long history of supporting defence programmes and the UK Submarine Enterprise which gives AtkinsRéalis ANZ a springboard with which to develop an Australian defence business in support of AUKUS.

To support this growth ambition, we are seeking to recruit a Defence Market Lead for our new Australian Defence business. Reporting directly to the CEO of Australia & New Zealand, the Defence Market Lead will be tasked to develop the AUKUS opportunity in Australia, building on the core AtkinsRéalis skills of complex nuclear infrastructure design, nuclear safety and integrated project delivery. The overall aim is to achieve a pipeline of opportunities, routes to market and the capability to deliver the opportunities.

As an integral member of the AtkinsRéalis ANZ Senior Leadership Team, the Defence Market Lead will lead the development of this new line of business, taking direct accountability for agreed priority target areas. You will build trusted relationships across the Australian defence market, including the DoD, Prime Contractors & Partners as well as lead our Win Work activities, managing key internal and external stakeholders, driving excellence in bidding, and ensuring seamless transition into delivery.

**Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities**

This role will require an individual who is comfortable working at a senior level who has strong relationship-based influencing skills with an ability to work across the Australian AUKUS landscape. The role holder will be a team builder with strong business acumen to identify and qualify client needs and associated business opportunity.

We recognise the challenge in building a capability to support AUKUS and we are keen to speak to individuals who can bring their energy, enthusiasm and knowledge into the space and who have experience of one or more of the following areas:

- An in-depth understanding of defence (Australia, UK or US) or civil nuclear infrastructure markets.
- Experience of operating in a defence nuclear market is an advantage, but not essential.
