Project Manager - Defence Simulation and Training

  • This role involves leading the planning, execution and delivery of a multi-year defence simulation and training program. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining scope, objectives, schedules and resources; overseeing system design, integration, testing and milestone achievement.
  • The primary contact for defence customers and partners, this person will build strong relationships and provide regular updates and reviews.
  • Maintaining adherence to defence standards (ASDEFCON, ISO, MIL-STDs), project frameworks and security protocols including ITAR and clearance requirements.
  • Risk identification, tracking and mitigation; seeking opportunities to improve cost, schedule or quality.
  • Managing budgets, forecasts and cost controls; leading multidisciplinary teams and negotiating contracts and supplier agreements.

About You:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in project/program management within the defence or aerospace sector, preferably with simulation, training systems or mission system development.
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects under defence contracting models (e.g., ASDEFCON or equivalent) and project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, at a senior level within defence, primes and industry.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies.
  • A strong understanding of defence simulation, training systems or related technologies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
  • NV1 security clearance (or ability to obtain).
