**Role Summary**

AUKUS is a trilateral capital programme to develop new nuclear submarine capability in the IndoPacific region. AtkinsRéalis has a long history of supporting defence programmes and the UK Submarine Enterprise which gives AtkinsRéalis ANZ a springboard with which to develop an Australian defence business in support of AUKUS.

To support this growth ambition, we are seeking to recruit a Defence Technical Lead for our new Australian Defence business. This role will build on the core AtkinsRéalis skills of complex nuclear infrastructure design, nuclear safety and integrated project delivery and will lead the capability development of the Defence Business, supporting the Defence Market Lead in developing new opportunities.

In summary, this will involve:

- Supporting the development of this new line of business, taking direct accountability for the technical delivery solution for agreed priority target areas
- Leading the capability development, working with our Australian and Global businesses to deliver a capability plan which draws on the resources across our business.
- Building trusted relationships with technical leads across the Australian Defence market, including DoD, Prime Contractors & Partners
- Supporting our win work activities, managing key internal and external stakeholders, driving excellence in bidding, and ensuring seamless transition into delivery

**Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities**

This role will require strong technical leadership combined with relationship-based influencing skills and an ability to work closely with both client stakeholders and the global AtkinsRéalis defence team. An ability to identify and understand the technical requirements and challenges of our clients is essential.

The role holder will be a team builder with strong technical and business acumen to identify technical delivery solutions and develop the capability required to deliver the work.

Experience in shaping creative solutions based on leveraging multiple capabilities across engineering and business consulting will be a distinct advantage. Ideally this will include knowledge of how to embed digital tools and products within solutions to support business transformation and to also create sustainable revenue streams for AtkinsRéalis.
