Responsibilities
The Parks and Open Space team is committed to maintaining high quality parks and open spaces within our city for residents and visitors to enjoy. Our team is part of the largest team in Council, maintaining around 300 parks and sporting grounds, natural areas, gardens, turf, trees, streetscapes, road medians, irrigation, playgrounds and other park infrastructure. We are responsible for maintaining four botanical gardens as well as high profile parklands including the Strand and the Riverway precinct.
Provide detailed analysis of maintenance operations in relation to service delivery by considering cost, risk, fleet and machinery required and then utilising this data for informed decision making.
Utilise the Technology One suite of systems to gather information to inform decision making.
Analyse and action outputs from quality auditing systems.
Play a key role in development of service level agreements within the team.
Lead design and systems thinking, identify strategic issues and opportunities across the Parks and Open Spaces team, highlighting where potential interventions could result in service delivery improvements and increased productivity.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will have :
Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Business (or similar) or a relevant park and open space related field.
Current C class drivers' license.
Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
Advanced knowledge of parks and open space management.
Substantial experience in an analyst or related role.
Highly demonstrated experience in performing maintenance performance analysis by considering the cost, risk, fleet and machinery, and utilisation information.
Ability to research and assess new concepts or interventions and develop performance measures to effectively monitor and evaluate productivity enhancements post implementation.
Experience in the implementation of interventions and continuous improvement programs within an organisation.
Knowledge of relevant acts, legislation, Australian Standards, Council bylaws and Codes of Practice within a public sector context.
Demonstrated understanding of park and open space environmental practices, including the challenges faced within this field (highly regarded).
