**About the organisation**
The Health Complaints Commissioner Advisory Council (the Council) is established by legislation to provide advice to the Health Complaints Commissioner. Council does this by liaising with health
services providers and consumers towards advice on the development of practice protocol, and by the request, regarding any function or power of the Commissioner.
**About the role**
The Council, led by the Council President, provides sound advice on general health service provision and administration, health consumer rights and experiences, including for disadvantaged cohorts, and optimising the safety and responsiveness of health services in Victoria. The Council meets intermittently throughout the year to achieve their objectives, sharing information and providing diverse perspectives on issues relevant to the Commissioner.
**About you**
With interest and knowledge of the health system and best practice in complaints management or resolution, you either have experience gained in public health service administration, general health service provider that is a small to medium business, you offer a perspective from being as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and/or being culturally diverse, gender diverse, older person, all ability or a carer, or draw from experience in academic research. Members will have board, committee or formal working group experience that demonstrates they share their specialist knowledge, work well and proactively with others, and exhibit the values and behaviours expected in the Victorian Public Sector. You value making a contribution to the work of the Commission and the health system in Victoria.
