Job Description:

The position of Strategic Advisor to the Commissioner is a key role within Corrections Victoria, providing high-level support and strategic advice to the Commissioner.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for analysing complex information, identifying key issues, and developing clear recommendations for the Commissioner.

The ideal candidate will have strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop evidence-based insights.

About the Role:

  • Provide high-level advice to the Commissioner on complex and sensitive matters
  • Develop briefing reports, presentations, and undertake projects as required in respect to highly complex, sensitive and confidential issues
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process for the Commissioner's Office

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in producing clear, concise and well-structured written documents, tailored to diverse audiences
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, identify key issues, and develop clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public sector operations, including policy development, cabinet processes, ministerial briefings, and inter-agency collaboration
