**How will I help?**
Group Property is responsible for the provision of property services to the Westpac Group.
Leasing, within Group Property, provides professional services to all Westpac Group employees through their work across Leasehold Acquisition, Leasehold Divestment, Freehold Divestment, Asset Management, and Customer Services. The service to Westpac Banking Group internal stakeholders is done in alignment with end-to-end property services provided by other areas of Westpac Group Property.
Corporate Strategy and Leasing takes a strategic focus in the ongoing management of Westpac's portfolio of office space nationally, and acts as a key interface between Group Property and the wider property market, with a focus on undertaking lease negotiations and management on behalf of Westpac.
**Key Accountabilities**
- Management of an allocated portfolio of Lease transactions, including negotiating lease renewals, surrenders, options, and rent reviews, delivering favourable outcomes for the group.
- Act as a key interface between Westpac Group Property and internal stakeholders.
- Act as a key interface between Westpac Group Property and external stakeholders including Agents and Landlords.
- Monitor and understand property markets in which Westpac Group Property has a presence.
- Negotiating make goods and surrenders and manage the hand back of excess space.
- Co-ordinating subleasing of vacant space.
- Portfolio budgeting and forecasting.
- Comply with all policies and procedures used to meet its health and safety obligations.
- Comply with Westpac Environmental policies and adhere to procedures and work instructions that are relevant to their activities.
- Ensure compliance is maintained and risks are managed and addressed effectively, including managing risks associated with AML, Financial Crimes, Modern Slavery, and responsible sourcing in accordance with Westpac policy.
- Ensure that all sustainability initiatives and programmes are incorporated in maintenance and refurbishment projects.

**What do I need?**
As the Strategy and Leasing Manager - Corporate you will be an integral part of a team delivering Westpac's corporate property strategy across a significant national office portfolio.
This role will involve strategy and planning in relation to the Westpac Group's Corporate Office occupation, as well as completing lease transactions to ensure optimal outcomes for the Group. This role will involve close working interaction with the Group Property Workplace team, Group Property Corporate Projects, and Group Property Operations teams.
The position will assist the National Manager - Strategy and Leasing in meeting the requirements of the Westpac Group internal stakeholder's expectations of Corporate Office requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in Commercial Asset Management with a focus on Tenant side management an advantage (though not critical).
- Experience in commercial deal and lease negotiation, including subleasing and Lease Surrenders.
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong knowledge and understanding of lease terms and conditions and ability to interpret key issues
- Excel modelling capabilities, including the ability to interpret data.
- Strong decision making and influencing skills.
- Understanding of valuation and property accounting fundamentals and principles.
- Strong collaboration skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experienced with a variety of property management software systems.
- Self-motivated and an ability to work independently and remotely
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Property Economics or similar discipline will be highly regarded
