The Tie Technologies business unit, headquartered near Denver (USA), develops and produces concrete ties in the USA, Canada, Mexico and Australia. For our location in Australia, we are looking for a Learning and Development Specialist.
Austrak, a Vossloh Company, is the Australian Industry leader in the manufacture and sale of pre-stressed concrete railway sleepers with four factories operating in Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia servicing major government and blue chip customers around Australia.
Learning and Development Specialist
You will lead learning and development across Austrak
**You will have the following responsibilities**:
- Lead in identification and implementation of a Learning Management System, and take ownership for the ongoing management.- Internal Trainer qualification and selection process- Buddy System Framework including selection and training buddies- Develop training materials using principles of adult learning and with an understanding of literacy levels.- Lead the Learning and Development functions strategically through to the operations- Austrak Wide Induction & On-boarding Framework- Austrak Wide TNA and Training Matrix- Production Worker Training Framework incorporating adult learning techniques; Classroom, On-the Job with Buddy and Management of Competence Framework- Internal Promotion Framework for Factories- Develop onboarding / training programs for: Team Leaders, Supervisors, Maintenance Managers, Quality Managers- Training to include HR, Leadership, Safety, Technical Competencies- Establish preferred supplier for HSE training services.- Manage / support sites in the rollout of external training.**Our requirements**:
- Extensive experience for design, build and implementation of a learning and development matrix within a manufacturing or production business (5-10 years desirable)- Ability to assess the learning and development needs of the organisation to support individuals or job families to maintain and /or gain the required skills and knowledge to effectively perform in their roles and meet legislative requirements- Learning/Content Management System design is experience essential- Experience managing projects and a demonstrated ability to plan, monitor and deliver excellent outcomes within timeframes and budget- Experience with the development of Operational and Health & Safety training is advantageous.- Ability to deliver train the trainer sessions for internally developed training- Effective communicator with strong verbal reasoning, influencing and presentation skills and with high professional credibility- Ability to travel to national locations- Has the ability to take initiative and work independently- Strong stakeholder engagement skills- Has built a reputation for effective and timely delivery and making things happen- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and experience in developing and delivering in personal and online material- Tertiary qualification in Learning Design/Education or a related discipline area**Applicants must have permanent legal rights to work full time in Australia or Visa holders (or qualify for an applicable skilled occupational visa) with the permission to work in Australia are welcome to apply.**
