**About the Team**

No one day is the same in RDA Human Factors. From working alongside users inside the vehicle to, HF workshops, to writing up technical reports, the job has guaranteed variety. Currently a small team, the HF capability is split between Melbourne and Brisbane, with team members spending time between our state of the art facility in Redbank (Milvehcoe - Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence), our project offices in Fortitude Valley (QLD) and Southbank (VIC), as well as working from home. Our HF team thrives on the intensity required to deliver quality and scientific-practitioner methodologies to solving challenging problems. **About the Role**

The Human Factors Specialist is responsible for executing the Human Factors Engineering Program for one or more of our projects and will be responsible for assuring that the contracted human factors requirements are met.

- **Human Factors Specialist** you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

- Further development of Human Engineering Program Reports in accordance with the contractual requirements;
- Conduct human factors analyses, studies, experiments, simulations, tests, and demonstrations and summarise the results into design recommendations and requirements;
- Optimisation of product design of Mission and Support Systems in regards to consideration of human engineering;
- Develop suitable acceptance test plans and procedures to verify that the human engineering requirements of the Contract have been achieved; and
- Provide specific human engineering advice to internal developers of Support System simulators.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- Relevant degree in Human Factors: Psychology, Ergonomics, industrial/product design or a related field;
- Application of Human Factors standards and experience with requirements;
- Understanding or ability to use 3D CAD (NX preferred) would be advantageous;
- Membership with HFESA;
- Relevant Human Factors experience in a major Defence Program is desirable;
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, consultation and negotiation skills;
- An ability to travel internationally and interstate when and if required;
- Work independently, autonomously and with mínimal supervision;
- Demonstrates high initiative; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
