We are looking for a Human Factors Specialist to lead and assist in developing our Human Factors capability within the Rail & Transport Business Unit. As the Human Factors Lead, you will become part of our well-established Rail Engineering and Integration (REI) team and will provide leadership with the delivery of Human Factors services as well as providing support to the wider Technology Engineering and Knowledge (TEK) group.
With the diversity of the projects in hand your days would never be the same. You will provide expert advice on human factors across our diverse tenders and projects in support of the rail and transport engineering safety and system assurance disciplines. You will ensure that effective identification of human factors' risks and issues has occurred, as well as ensuring appropriate solutions to these risks and issues have been implemented across the lifecycle of the project, from the design to construction, commissioning, and transition into operations to the satisfaction of client and regulatory requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities of the role include
- Establish and ensure effective implementation of human factors on projects in alignment with AS7470, including the development of the Human Factors Management and Integration Plans.
- Lead engagement with stakeholders and regulatory bodies when required and participation in reviews, verification, validation and audits pertaining to implementation of Human Factors Engineering across the life cycle of the projects.
- Develop and lead a team for the delivery of the human factors function for the organisation
- Ensure human factors support is provided to design teams and human factors' aspects are incorporated into design delivery
- Ensure safety related human factors risks are successfully captured and human factors solutions incorporated within safety arguments required for safety and assurance cases.
- Provide input into the development and update of maintenance/operational procedures/plans
- Participate in railway operational readiness activities, including but not limited to input into the training needs analysis, user acceptance testing, HF support during commissioning, verification and validation requirements, post-implementation review, collection of HF lessons learned.
- To be successful in this key role, you must have
- Tertiary qualification directly relating to Human Factors
- 5+ years' experience within the railway industry is preferred.
- 10+ years' human factors specialist experience.
- Working knowledge of safety regulations, disability legislations, Worksafe codes and practices.
