The Salvation Army Youth Services offer an integrated suite of programs engaging with young people across Australia. Our services create intentional avenues for young people to explore opportunities, build support networks, and access, participate and contribute to their communities. Youth services provide a diverse range of programs which include housing and homelessness, driver training, education, employment and training, AOD support, social and community activities, specialist therapeutic responses and youth justice programs.
As the Team Leader you will lead a team of Disability Support Workers to deliver quality, customer-focused outcomes for young people.
This is a casual role based in Blacktown, NSW.
The role you could play
- Work with the Program coordinator to be responsible for the daily program routine to ensure continuity including; managing all rosters and managing staff timesheets and program schedules
- Assist with implementing individual plans that include provision of social participation, training, employment and referral interventions
- Support clients to participate in and access age appropriate activities and tasks
- Use a range of communication techniques to effectively handle complex, sensitive matters
- Ensure quality of service, confidentiality, diversity awareness, provision of information
- Work with clients, family/ carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals
What you will bring
- Certificate III or IV in Disability
- 5 years' experience working in Disability sector or understanding of disability, mental illness and the needs of parents/carers
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to work and communicate effectively with clients, their families, community agencies and other professionals
- Valid Driver's License
- A valid Employee Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate
- A willingness to undergo a National Police check
