We believe every individual has the right to live with dignity, respect, and security, and we strive to attract and retain top talent who share our philosophy of care.The OpportunityWe are looking for a Chef/Cook to join our team at Bracken House Aged Care Facility in Dubbo.A great opportunity exists, with availability required on weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), for someone to perform cooking and kitchen duties.We are seeking people to provide a high standard of quality care to facility residents, by preparing, cooking, and the presentation of nutritious meals that meet the dietary and cultural needs of aged care residents, while ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.What you will bring to the role:Experienced in bulk cooking, preferably in an aged care or healthcare settingKnowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP levelStrong time management and communication skillsUnderstanding of residents rights, person-centred care and dignity of riskAbility to manage change efficiently and effectivelyAbility to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook)Certificate III & IV in Commercial Cookery/HospitalityFood Safety Supervisor CertificateUnderstanding of Aged Care Quality Standards and Special Dietary needsExperience in Aged Care desirableCurrent First Aid Certificate desirableExcellent communication skillsTeam player who is highly motivatedAvailability to work weekend shiftsBenefits and perksCompetitive remuneration including eligibility for not-for-profit salary packaging options for permanent employees (up to $15,900 living expenses and $2,650 entertainment benefits, tax free)Access to a Wellness ProgramEmployee Assistance ProgramSupportive and friendly work environmentWork/life balance and flexible working arrangements availableWorkplace education and support providedOpportunity to make a real difference to your community and the lives of those in needPre-employment screeningThe successful candidate is required to have completed/have a willingness to undertake the following:-Vaccinated in accordance with UPA's Immunisation and Vaccination Policy.
