Adelaide, South Australia Lead Community Support Services Full time

**The Role - Disability Support Worker**:

- Looking for support workers to commit to regular and consistent week day shift schedules with the occasional weekends and public holidays.
- Be able to support individuals with intellectual, mental health and/or physical disabilities.
- Must be creative and resourceful to assist customers achieve their goals and build capacity.
- Passionate, empathetic & committed to provide the best care to each individual that encourages self determination.
- Delivering high quality person centred support.
- Daily living assistance in the home and the community.
- Support physical health and emotional well-being.
- Assisting individuals to and from community-based activities and appointments.
- Track and document an individual's progress through detailed note keeping.

**Essential Criteria**:

- Must be fluent in both written and spoken English
- Must have own car that is well maintained and suitable for client transportation
- Physically fit and active
- Great social and communication skills
- The ability to develop a positive relationship with the participant
- Skills to manage Behaviours of Concern in line with a Behaviour Support Plan
- Understanding of restrictive practice policies
- Experience with psychosocial, complex and challenging behaviours
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment

**Mandatory requirements**:

- Cert III in Individual Support or Cert IV in Disability (or equivalent)
- Current Drivers Licence
- Own transport and must be willing to use it for work
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
- National Police Clearance
- Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate
- First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- Right to work in Australia

**Ideal requirements**:

- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with physical disabilities & Mental Health incl. high needs 24/7 care.
- Demonstrated experience with specialty supports, such as Manual Handling, Bowel & Catheter Care, Peg Feeding, Medication Assistance.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex and challenging behaviours incl. verbal/ physical aggression and self-harm.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 35 per week
