We're currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst (AO5 level) to support a major Queensland Government division on a data-driven reporting program. This is an excellent opportunity for a BA who enjoys working with business intelligence artefacts, stakeholder engagement, and contributing to meaningful operational improvements.

About the Role

In this position, you will play a key role in analysing business intelligence requirements, developing clear project documentation, and supporting the delivery of reporting and data-focused initiatives. You'll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to understand business needs, improve processes, and ensure solutions are effectively implemented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed research and analysis of business intelligence artefacts and translate findings into high-quality project documentation.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand operational needs and future reporting requirements.
  • Provide advice on processes, systems, data, and business solutions to support strategic decision-making.
  • Support user acceptance testing by developing test plans and communicating proposed changes to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Create and maintain process maps, procedures, templates, and change management artefacts.
  • Develop and manage business intelligence artefacts aligned with government project, program, and portfolio frameworks.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of analysis frameworks, templates, and methodologies.

About You To be successful, you will bring:

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within government or large, structured environments.
  • Confidence working with data, reporting, and business intelligence artefacts.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to communicate insights clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships across multiple teams.
  • Experience in data storytelling or data analysis (highly desirable).
  • Solid understanding of project and business analysis methodologies.
