Join our Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses Projects Team to lead impactful community engagement and participation within South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
You will lead consumer and community participation including through social media and digital engagements. Your role is key in strengthening connections with diverse communities and ensuring their engagement in services and activities provided within our health district. If you are a skilled communicator with a passion for consumer engagement and participation, codesign and social media we want to hear from you. Part time arrangements (4 days/week) will also be considered.
Where You'll Be Working
Population and Community Health (PaCH) is part of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District.
PaCH provides community health services that give care to individuals, families and carers, as well as population health services that focus on the whole community or key groups within the community.
PaCH's services are provided at the District's hospitals, community-based facilities including child and family health centres, community health centres and specialist clinics. We work with other service providers across South Eastern Sydney Local Health District, including hospitals and mental health services.

The Role
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is 'exceptional care, healthier lives'. SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.
SESLHD's Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus Services (SHBBV) provides leadership, innovation and research in the sector. Services within SHBBV are involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of Sexually Transmissible Infections (STIs) and blood borne viruses at an individual and population level within SESLHD, as well as four statewide services.
Across these services, care is provided via fixed locations and outreach networks to a client base of approximately 28,000 individuals. SHBBV has highly skilled and diverse staff including nursing, medical, allied health, health promotion, administrative and technical staff. It is the largest SHBBV service in Australia.
The Project Coordinator, Community Engagement and Communication is responsible for coordinating community engagement initiatives across SHBBV and broader Population and Community Health (PaCH) services. This includes social media and other online platforms, as well as community engagement events.
The role also leads the Sexual Health Service Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) and serves as the main point of contact for SHBBV CACs.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social media, communications or a health-related field or relevant equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the processes of developing and implementing social media and communications strategies and initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision to deliver agreed outcomes within deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to engage and motivate people across a range of settings.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to meet current and emerging business needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current developments and priorities in HIV/STI/Hepatitis prevention, testing and treatment and understanding of issues affecting priority populations.
- Willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
