Norlift is a well-established and reputable company specializing in Forklift, EWP and Material Handling Equipment. With a strong presence in Far North Queensland, including Cooktown and Weipa, we offer comprehensive services including Forklift Hire, Sales, Service, and Parts.

We are currently seeking a dedicated Apprentice Diesel Mechanic (2nd OR 3rd Year) to join our Cairns team. This role involves assisting with the high demand for breakdown and servicing requirements in the Cairns area and its surroundings, working alongside a qualified mechanic. We are looking for an individual with a proactive attitude and a strong desire to contribute effectively to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance, servicing, and breakdown repairs on both retail and internal hire fleet equipment.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and support.
  • Work on a diverse range of equipment (various makes and models).
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship and cleanliness.
  • Assemble, maintain, diagnose, and repair both light and heavy equipment.

The Successful Applicant:

  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be an Australian permanent resident.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's Licence.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools is required.
  • A Forklift Licence is preferred but not essential.
