Field Service Diesel Mechanic

We're looking for experienced Field Service Fitters to join our Cairns team to support our customers in the Marine, Power Generation, Transport and Civil Industries. These are Permanent, Full-Time opportunities working a 9-day fortnight.

What you'll be doing

As a Field Service Fitter at Hastings Deering, you will:

• Get out on site - travel to specific site projects to provide hands-on support and assist customers with machine maintenance, breakdowns, diagnostics and warranty repairs.
• Take on the big jobs - carry out scheduled engine rebuilds, repairs, and general servicing.
• Keep the wheels turning - minimise production downtime by getting equipment back up and running quickly and safely.
• Deliver real value - provide quality service that helps customers boost the performance and reliability of their CAT gear.
• Work safe, work smart - always follow and promote the highest standards of safety on the job.

About you

We're seeking dedicated tradespeople who bring:

• Trade Qualification - Cert III Engineering (Diesel Fitters - preferred, Automotive Mechanics, Mechanical Fitters, Fitter & Turners or Mechanical trades).
• Demonstrated experience on industrial engines and experience in the marine sector is preferred/highly favorable.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic ability.
• Dedicated commitment and adherence to health and safety policy and procedure.
• High level of initiative, reliability and ability to work independently.
• A customer driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, documentation and time management skills
• Australian/NZ Citizen or AUS Permanent Resident applicants only (we are unable to accept applications from candidates who are temporary residents)
