About the Role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the processing of all fortnightly payroll ranging from 1800 to 1900 employees and Executives per payroll. Responsibilities include processing timesheets, payment of salaries and wages, necessary reconciliations, distributions of payroll deductions and maintenance of employee records.
How You'll Make an Impact Specific Role Responsibilities:- Verify timekeeping records and consult employees regarding any discrepancies.
- Record payroll data in the Ascender software system, ensuring all amounts are accurate before issuing of payments.
- Adjust employee tax statuses and withholding information as needed.
- Prepare manual checks for distribution to employees
- Update employee banking information as necessary to ensure accurate payment processing.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
- Maintaining and recording approved leave applications such as Yooralla paid parental leave, LSL etc which do not fall under ESS leave requests.
- Answer payroll inquiries or refer them to the appropriate person.
- Prepare and input Kronos file into Ascender payroll system, ensuring payroll calculations comply with relevant Awards/Enterprise
- Agreements and process payments within strict deadlines.
- Provide support to employees regarding payroll issues, Award and Enterprise Agreement matters, separation certificates and termination processes.
- Manage Smart Salary Packaging arrangements and deductions in accordance with Yooralla's guidelines and Smart Salary.
- Maintain compliant policies and procedures for processing payroll checks.
- Ensure all supporting payroll documentation and reports are securely scanned and/or filed appropriately in a timely manner.
- End to End of Payroll processing functionality understanding
- Experience:
- Experience processing payroll for approximately 1900 staff from beginning to end
- Experience using Ascender and Kronos software or Similar
- Experience in interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
- Ability to meet regular deadlines
Strong database knowledge including excellent Excel skills
Mandatory Requirements:
Current National Police Record Check, WWCC (Volunteer), Current National Driver's License/Proof of ID, International Police Check (if required).
