About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to join our dynamic team at the D'Aguilar Hotel in D'Aguilar, Queensland. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen operations, creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests, and driving the culinary vision of our establishment. This is a full-time, permanent role based in our D'Aguilar location.

What you'll be doing

  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision
  2. Develop and implement innovative menu items that showcase your culinary expertise and showcase the best of local, seasonal ingredients
  3. Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency are maintained
  4. Manage and lead a team of talented chefs and kitchen staff, providing mentorship and training to support their professional development
  5. Collaborate with the management team to align the culinary offerings with the overall business strategy and guest expectations
  6. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, as well as inventory and cost control procedures

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the hospitality industry
  2. Minimum 5 years of pub/bistro experience required for this position
  3. Formal culinary training and qualifications, such as a Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent
  4. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent minimum qualification required
  5. Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a kitchen staff
  6. Strong creative and innovative flair, with a demonstrated track record of developing successful menus and culinary concepts
  7. Thorough understanding of food safety regulations, inventory management, and cost control procedures
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the broader hospitality team
  9. Australian work rights required to apply for this position
