About the Role
Select Harvests is seeking an Accounts Receivable Officer to join our Finance team at our Richmond Head Office. The Accounts Receivable Officer will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debts from clients and customers, ensuring timely and accurate processing of incoming payments, and maintaining financial records related to accounts receivable. This role supports the financial health of the organisation by optimising cash flow and minimising credit risk.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor and manage the accounts receivable ledger to ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
- Generate and send accurate invoices to customers in accordance with contractual terms.
- Follow up on overdue accounts via phone, email, and written correspondence.
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies or disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions.
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collection performance.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Sales, Customer Service) to resolve billing issues.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant financial regulations.
- Deposit cheques on a weekly basis
What We're Looking For
· Understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
· Familiarity with accounts receivable systems and ERP software.
· Knowledge of relevant legislation and compliance requirements.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
· Analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounts receivable or a similar finance role.
· Experience in a high-volume transactional environment preferred.
· Demonstrated success in managing collections and reducing debtor days.
