Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service
The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service is a large regional hospital that provides a wide range of services including emergency, general and surgical, maternity, outpatient, and outreach services. The hospital has 58 beds including flex and monitored beds. The Port Augusta Hospital also has chemotherapy services and has a Renal Dialysis Unit and a Paediatric Department, both of which are the largest outside of Adelaide. Our staff work in close partnership with community health services and Aboriginal health providers, to ensure that optimum care is delivered to all areas of the community. About the Role:
A Nurse Practitioner at FUNLHN is an advanced practice nurse endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, providing expert clinical care beyond the usual scope of nursing. Practicing with a high degree of autonomy and advanced clinical decision-making, the Nurse Practitioner works both independently and collaboratively across the health care system. Employees at this level deliver high-level clinical expertise for individual patients, groups, or populations, while accepting accountability for their nursing practice, professional advice, delegations of care, and ensuring consistency with policy. The scope of practice for the Nurse Practitioner is approved by the LHN Nursing and Midwifery Credentialing Committee.

About You:
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with the notation of Nurse Practitioner.
- Registered Nurse/Midwife with at least 3 years post registration experience.
- Demonstrated advanced level of nursing practice in the care and management of (specific patient/client or client group)
- Experience in developing policies, procedures and models of care in the relevant area of clinical practice.
- Experience in the supervision of student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
