Physician practice at St Vincent's Clinic, Darlinghurst is looking for a dynamic full time medical secretary/receptionist to join a professional team.  We are a good-humoured, fair and cheerful group who prioritize harmonious workplace relations - the right candidate will share these values.  Excellent communication skills are required along with computer and technology capability. We deliver modern, evidence-based medicine with patient wellbeing at its heart. Our Medical Secretary/Receptionist will be a dedicated, stable individual seeking long term tenure. You will be calm under pressure and readily adapt. You will be a natural organiser – you will thrive in co-ordinating a busy practice, and seeing solutions where others see obstacles. Previous Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Medical Specialist practice Experience with medical software, preferably Genie or Gentu

Duties include but are not limited to:

Meeting and greeting patients in a professional and courteous manner; Contributing to increased patient satisfaction; Scheduling patient consultations having answering patient enquiries regarding doctors; Services including submit paperwork for diagnostic investigations and hospitalisation; Ensuring medical records are managed confidentially and efficiently; Drafting of quotes and payment management; Liaison with Medicare, health insurers, healthcare providers and governmental agencies e.g. WorkCover, DVA; Attending to doctors requests; Ensure office machines, IT infrastructure and practice rooms are maintained to a satisfactory standard including; Ordering of stationery, equipment, and medical supplies;

Your personal presentation will be impeccable within the workplace. You will comply with Health and Safety requirements.  You will support diversity in the workplace and help us foster a caring and supportive environment for staff, patients, families and colleagues.

Skills and Abilities

Maintain patient confidentiality; Work in a team as well as autonomously; Manage workflow, and delegate and prioritize appropriately; Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and strong language skills and literacy; You will possess adequate conflict resolution, organisation and problem solving skills; You will be flexible, adaptable and present a customer service focus.
