We're Hiring: Part-Time / Contractor HR Manager

Location: Darling Harbour, Sydney (Hybrid / Remote options available)

Join our team at one of Darling Harbour's premier Chinese dining destinations, known for our unique setting, high-volume service, and exceptional food experience. We're seeking a proactive and experienced HR Manager to support our growing team and streamline our HR systems — on a flexible, part-time or contract basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the fast-paced nature of hospitality and can help us build a strong team culture, ensure compliance, and support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Maintain compliant HR policies and procedures (Fair Work, Restaurant Industry Award, WHS)
  • Provide guidance on performance management and employee relations
  • Lead initiatives to improve staff culture, communication, and retention
  • Manage employee contracts, HR files, and confidentiality protocols
  • Support payroll and timekeeping accuracy in collaboration with management
  • Develop clear SOPs for HR and staff management suitable for a 100-seat, high-volume restaurant

About You:

  • 3 years of HR Manager or Advisor experience, ideally with hospitality exposure
  • In-depth understanding of Australian employment law, awards, and Fair Work compliance
  • Warm, approachable, and solutions-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal oversight
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • HR qualifications and/or AHRI membership a bonus
