Venue Manager – Seven Seeds Carlton

Seven Seeds Carlton is the flagship café for the Seven Seeds brand and an iconic location in the Melbourne coffee landscape.

We're proud of our reputation for exceptional coffee, vibrant service, and genuine hospitality and now we're looking for a dynamic and experienced Venue Manager to lead our team into the next chapter. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily café operations, including rostering (Deputy), staffing, service flow, and quality control.
  • Manage training, onboarding, and performance reviews, with a focus on team growth and development.
  • Foster a welcoming and professional atmosphere that reflects the Seven Seeds culture of hospitality.
  • A passion for exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
  • A collaborative mindset, open to feedback and aligned with company goals and values.
  • Championing coffee and food excellence, maintaining consistency and high standards across the board, adhering to food safety, hygiene, and OHS guidelines.
  • Building and supporting a culture of learning, growth, and collaboration.
  • Provide positive, hands-on leadership that inspires and supports the team across all areas of the venue.
  • Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and service execution.
  • Oversee ordering, stock management, and cost control to ensure efficient and sustainable operations.
  • Lead by example on the floor, setting service standards and supporting the team during peak periods.
  • Monitor and report on key business metrics including sales, COGS, wage costs, and customer feedback.
  • Support marketing and community engagement initiatives that strengthen the Seven Seeds brand presence.
  • Collaborate with the Seven Seeds Retail Manager to ensure venue alignment across all Seven Seeds locations.

Must Haves:

  • Proven experience leading a team in a high volume café or hospitality environment, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • A deep appreciation for specialty coffee - espresso, filter, and beyond.
  • A natural leader with great communication skills and a calm, confident presence under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with an eye for detail and operational efficiency.
  • Basic computer literacy, including experience with POS systems and scheduling
