Located on Hutt St in the Adelaide CBD, Chianti is open Monday to Saturday for lunch & dinner.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a talented Junior Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef who loves Italian food, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and wants to grow their career in a respected hospitality venue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes with creativity and consistency.
  • Assist with menu development, considering seasonality and cost control.
  • Supervise kitchen operations and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with stock control, ordering, and monthly stocktakes.
  • Train and mentor apprentices and new kitchen staff.
  • Support event catering and private functions.
  • Maintain a positive, professional work environment and lead by example.

What We're Looking For

  • Diploma-level qualification plus 1 year relevant experience OR 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Passion for Italian cuisine and strong knowledge of hospitality standards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Broad experience across all kitchen sections
  • Reliable, proactive, and adaptable with a positive attitude.
