Senior Paralegal / Conveyancer – Parental Leave Cover

6-12 Month Contract

Our client, a respected and established name in the property and development sector, is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Paralegal for a contract position of up to 12 months. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative legal team and contribute to high-profile transactions across property, development, and finance projects.

In this role you will be working closely with the General Counsel, and provide critical legal and administrative support across a broad range of property and development matters. This hands-on role requires a commercially-minded paralegal with deep experience in conveyancing and off-the-plan transactions, who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities include

  • Assist with conveyancing and Off-the-Plan (OTP) transactions
  • Draft and review legal documentation, including Caveats, Mortgages, and related instruments
  • Prepare OTP contracts in accordance with sales advice
  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to manage negotiations, contract exchanges, and settlements
  • Manage extensions, rescissions, and terminations; handle PEXA settlements
  • Conduct due diligence and coordinate relevant searches
  • Support finance-related legal matters, including resales and conditions precedent
  • Assist with Acquisition Transactions, including document review and negotiation support
  • Prepare transaction summaries for internal reporting pre- and post-exchange
  • Coordinate legal documentation, filing, and legal research as needed

Ideal Candidate

  • 10+ years' experience as a paralegal or senior licensed conveyancer, ideally within property and off-the-plan development
  • Strong understanding of conveyancing processes, including presale finance and acquisitions
  • Excellent drafting, organisation, and time management skills
  • Confidence in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PEXA
  • Experience with ClickUp and Trisearch (desirable)
  • A Conveyancing License is advantageous
