An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Improvement and Innovation Advisor within the Quality and Safety Unit. This position supports the implementation of measurable improvement in health service capability and care delivery in key priority areas.
The Advisor will lead improvement and innovation initiatives, working closely with teams across the organisation and externally. This role involves planning, coaching, and delivering improvement activities aligned with strategic goals.
This is a fixed term full-time or part time position of up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing immediately to June 2026. The exact hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Further information is contained in the Position Description.
Our preferred candidate will have:
- Strong project & change management skills, with experience leading successful improvement initiatives
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Familiarity with redesign methodologies such as Lean, and a proactive, solution-focused approach
- Ability to work independently with robust reporting mechanisms aligned to organisational priorities
- Proven ability to collaborate within a team and across disciplines
The following experience/qualifications would be considered advantageous:
- Tertiary qualification in a health discipline, improvement science, or process redesign (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Experience in staff education or mentoring
- Proficiency in operations analysis and data visualisation
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
