You will make an impact by

  • Leading and mentoring a team of 6 planners to deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
  • Driving continuous improvement in systems, processes, and customer service.
  • Providing expert planning advice to Council, senior management, and stakeholders.
  • Championing collaboration across departments to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery.
  • Representing Council at VCAT and guiding others through complex statutory planning matters.

What you will bring

  • A tertiary qualification in Town/Urban Planning or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience and a proven track record in statutory planning.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire a diverse team.
  • Deep knowledge of planning legislation, processes, and the political context.
  • Experience in implementing business improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of industry changes.
