About the Opportunity

At NSW Health Pathology, we are creating better health and justice systems.

We are looking for temporary Management Accountants to support our Metro and Regional and Rural pathology operations. The role has a strong focus on business partnering and engagement, with the roles placed at the forefront supporting pathology operations in all aspects of service delivery.

The position works closely with the Director of Financial Operations and Business Managers to implement consistent and improved finance and business processes across NSW Health Pathology.

Location is negotiable across Sydney and Newcastle, supporting both Metro and Regional pathology service delivery.

What you'll be doing

Provide financial support and guidance to a range of operational stakeholders on financial management to enable the effective utilisation of resources and to achieve targeted KPI's. This includes the development of the annual budget/business plan, the ongoing review and analysis of operating and financial results and engagement and collaboration with Laboratory Management around financial management.

The position works closely with the Associate Director of Financial Operations and Senior Finance Business Partners to implement consistent and improved finance and business processes across NSW Health Pathology (NSWHP).

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and relevant experience including current membership of a professional accounting body with a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Demonstrated excellent analytical skills and capacity to interpret financial and non-financial data (such as activity and full time equivalent data)
• Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines, organise and prioritise high volume workloads
• Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and experience in partnering with operational stakeholders to achieve positive financial outcomes
• Significant experience and skills using a recognised Financial Management Information System in a large organisation, and experience in developing operational budgets for a large-scale organisation
