Financial Accountant

Sydney | Full-time | Permanent

At Wilson Asset Management, we manage $6.0 billion in funds under management for over 130,000 retail shareholders. We are a purpose-driven investment manager with over 27 years of making a difference for shareholders and the community.

Our finance team is a critical to our business, working closely with all areas including investments, corporate affairs, investor relations and operations. Due to recent growth, we are looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team and help deliver high-quality financial reporting and control across our listed investment companies and trusts.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare half-year and year-end statutory accounts, attending and providing updates to board meetings

  • Manage tax and regulatory reporting including BAS, income tax returns, ASIC filings and ASX disclosures

  • Support monthly and quarterly management reporting

  • Manage key financial control processes including cash management and account reconciliations

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support company secretarial functions

What You'll Bring

  • CA or CPA qualification and tertiary degree in finance or accounting

  • Experience as an accountant ideally gained in a listed company, or fund manager, with strong knowledge of Australian tax and accounting standards

  • Familiarity with ASX listing rules, ASIC regulations and financial disclosures

  • Ability to problem solve with strong work ethic, organisation skills and demonstrate initiative

  • Collaborative mindset, excellent communication skills and a passion for making a difference
