The Role
As the
Marketing Communications Coordinator
, you will focus on the coordination of marketing communications strategy and activities, under the direction of the Marketing Communications Manager and regional leadership. You will work across all resort business units - Rooms, MICE, F&B, Brand - to help deliver effective marketing communications strategies to achieve Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns, business goals, priorities and impact. As a collaborative team player, you will work with your team to create innovative marketing ideas in keeping with Shangri-La brand standards to support the overarching objectives of the hotel. A natural communicator, you will build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners to facilitate campaigns.
The coordinator role will support the Marketing Communications Manager, encompassing the following responsibilities:
- Coordination of public relations and key online influencer campaigns
- Compiles and maintains press kit information
- Assists in the creation of social media content including creation of reels, posts and stories
- Maintain Shangri-La Cairns website ensuring content updates are implemented in liaison with the regional digital team
- Coordination of media activities including photo and videographer shoots and media famils
- Writes copy for marketing channels including web, socials, EDM and print
- Coordinate creation of material for advertising campaigns, compendiums and brand and marketing campaigns
- Maintains F&B loyalty membership and media contacts database
- Adhoc reports and maintenance of marketing administration
About You
This position is well-suited for a Marketing graduate or an industry-experienced individual with a keen eye for detail and social media engagement.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of platform activity, essential for navigating the challenges and rewards of this role, a creative flair, organizational skills, and must possess experience in
Adobe CS, photography, videography, and graphic design expertise,
which will contribute to their readiness for this dynamic position.
