Our operations span from Busselton in the south, through the Midwest and goldfields, up to Karratha in the Pilbara.
Reporting through to the Operations manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the commercial contractual obligations of the business are met and maintained. The role will be based in our modern Balcatta office, where you will provide valuable support to our project teams across all stages of the project cycle.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field
- Strong understanding of construction contracts (e.g. AS 4000, Australian Building Industry Contracts, etc)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Proven 5+ years experience in contracts administration (or similar)
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of Australian construction law and industry standards
- Previous experience in the resource, mining or construction sector
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- While your day to day duties will vary, you can expect to:
- Assist our estimating teams to prepare detailed and accurate tenders.
- Review all contracts and client documentation, from tender through to project close out.
- Review and prepare detailed sub-contract proposals and agreements.
- Work closely with the project team, to create detailed financial and project progress reports.
- Prepare and track documentation on variations, EOT's, progress claims, etc.
- Monitor project documentation, to ensure accurate records are maintained.
- Provide support in resolving contract related issues.
- Draft, review, and manage construction contracts and subcontracts
- Assist in tender preparation and submittal.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure contractual obligations are met
- Monitor contract performance, variations, and claims.
- Prepare progress claims, invoices, and payment schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of contract correspondence and documentation.
- Assist in tender preparation and bid submissions.
- Resolve contractual disputes and support risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act
- Support cost control and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend site meetings and provide contract-related advice to project teams.
- There may some site travel required on an ad hoc basis to our projects around the state.
