Narellan Vale Public School is located in South Western Sydney which is within the Macarthur Network of Schools and was opened in 1997. There are currently 622 students enrolled. The student population comprises 24% of students with a language background other than English and 50 students from an Aboriginal background.
The school has a support unit of three Autism (AU) classes, established to further support the needs of the students in the community and foster inclusivity. There is a core focus to build strong foundations of learning and a school wide culture of high expectations. Strong links have been forged with the local preschools and the local feeder high school. The school is supported by a hardworking Parents and Citizens Association.
The school motto of 'Together We Learn and Grow' is central to all endeavours. A commitment to continual improvement is key, with Literacy and Numeracy at the core of all learning. There is a strong culture of collaboration and a dedicated team of educators who are committed to excellence and maximising student growth and attainment. Selection CriteriaApproval to teach K-6 primary students with demonstrated experience and commitment to current Department's policies on inclusive education, student wellbeing, and support for students with disability and additional learning needs.
Demonstrated excellence to assess, plan, implement and evaluate effective learning and support programs that cater for students with diverse learning, behavioural and social needs across K-6 in a timely manner.
Proven capacity to work collaboratively and provide specialist assistanceto build teacher capability and deliver differentiated, evidence-based teaching practices that improve learning outcomes for all students.
Strong organisational skills and understanding of the Access Request process, Nationally Consistent Collection of Data and funding procedures to support equitable resource allocation and compliance.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external personnel to improve student outcomes.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
