Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Proven experience and expertise in leading a Learning Support faculty, effectively supporting and enhancing outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
Demonstrated experience in supporting students with disabilities and additional learning needs, through collaborative working relationships with staff, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement Personalised Learning and Support Plans.
Lead and promote targeted professional learning for SLSOs and teachers to build their capacity in supporting students with diverse learning needs, and design and deliver best-practice strategies that strengthen inclusive culture across the school.
Demonstrated ability to use data to improve outcomes for students with disability and inform the School Excellence Plan to develop, monitor and evaluate measures for students with disability.
Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
