We are seeking a dynamic and accomplished Learning Support Teacher to join the Learning Enrichment Department, supporting classroom teachers and students in the middle years (Years 5 to 8).
This is a part-time position with a 0.6 FTE load, spread across three days per week. The role is a temporary parental leave cover, commencing at the beginning of Term 4, 2025, and concluding at the end of Term 3, 2026.
To be successful in securing this position, you will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in learning support encompassing:
- Specific experience teaching Stage 3 and Stage 4 students.
- Understanding of student learner variability and how to meet the individual needs of students with learning differences and disabilities.
- Knowledge of current research and best practices in teaching neurodiverse learners and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports.
- Understanding of legal obligations to support students' access to learning programs on the same basis as other students.
- Experience in designing, implementing, and delivering learning support programs, including modifications and adjustments to curriculum and assessments.
- Collaboration with the Learning Enrichment team and classroom teachers to deliver evidence-informed programs and utilise a co-teaching support model of instruction.
- Experience developing Individual Learning Profiles and administering disability provisions for specified assessment tasks.
- Experience communicating with parents and case-managing students identified with additional learning needs, in consultation with classroom teachers.
Essential Qualifications
- Formal qualifications in Inclusive Education or Special Education
Strongly desirable but not essential:
- Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme.
