Auburn Girls High School is a partially academically selective and comprehensive high school with an enrolment of 850 girls, 98% of whom have a language background other than English. The school has increasingly achieved outstanding HSC and NAPLAN results. This is due to a strong commitment to building collective teacher efficacy and utilising evidence-based practices to target areas, including literacy, numeracy, and HPGE. Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Proven leadership of a Learning Support Faculty to deliver high-quality teaching and support to students with additional learning needs. With the ability to liaise and coordinate Departmental and external support services to meet specific learning needs. 
- Proven ability to collect and analyse data, and build the capacity of staff to use data to improve practice and cater for the diverse needs of students to improve learning and engagement. 
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and organisational skills that foster positive relationships with all stakeholders, including departmental and external support services, parents and students, to collaboratively develop and implement strategies to meet specific learning needs. 
- Demonstrated capacity to collaboratively develop and implement programs connected with the strategic directions of the school, and work with executive teams and the broader school community, in the progress and evaluation of these directions. 
- Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 
- Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 
- Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 
- Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 
- Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
