Kingswood High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school established in 1969 and located in the Penrith Valley area. The school is comprised of 1032 students, including 15% of students from an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and 29% of students who have a language background other than English. The school also includes a Special Education Unit that supports up to 60 students through the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning activities personalised to support student growth and development. The school occupies spacious grounds with specialised facilities, including a state-of-the-art Trade Training Centre, Multipurpose Sports Centre and Auditorium, student managed cafe, after school Homework Club, fully equipped gym, international quality sporting field, a diverse Primary Industry Farm and the Kingswood Recording Studio.

Selection CriteriaApproval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes
Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers
Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, external agencies, and the wider school community.
Demonstrated capacity to provide specialist support for teachers to create and implement differentiated teaching programs for a diverse range of students, including competency in assisting with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).
Demonstrated capacity in planning, implementing and monitoring individualised education plans (IEPs) to improve learning outcomes for students with additional needs. This includes using data to adjust programs to meet individual needs.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
