Position Information

Denham Court Public School, located on Dharawal land in Sydney's south-west, serves 878 students from diverse cultural, religious, and socio-economic backgrounds, including 85% LBOTE and 13 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach K-6 students with experience teaching students with learning and support needs (K-6) in regular classes
  • Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork, effective communication and building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, external agencies, and the wider school community.
  • Demonstrated capacity to provide specialist support for teachers to create and implement differentiated teaching programs for a diverse range of students, including competency in assisting with development of Access Requests for further support.
  • Demonstrated capacity in collaboratively planning, implementing and monitoring Personalised learning and Support Plans (PLaSPs) to improve learning outcomes for students with additional needs. This includes using data to adjust programs to meet individual needs.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
