
Female Disabaility Support Worker

A Disability Support Worker (DSW) provides person-centred care and support to people with disability, assisting them to achieve their goals, live independently, and participate fully in their community. Under the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme), the role focuses on empowering participants by respecting choice, control, and dignity.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, eating, and mobility support.
- Domestic Assistance: Support with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and shopping.
- Community Participation: Encourage and assist clients to engage in social, recreational, educational, and vocational activities.
- Transport: Provide safe transportation to appointments, community events, or other activities.
- Skill Development: Support clients in building independence, including budgeting, cooking, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Health & Wellbeing: Monitor and support client's physical and emotional wellbeing; administer medication if required and trained.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services delivered, progress notes, incident reports, and communication logs in line with NDIS quality standards.
- Safeguarding: Uphold duty of care, follow behaviour support plans, and maintain a safe environment.
- Collaboration: Work with families, allied health professionals, and other stakeholders to provide consistent, high-quality support.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent (highly regarded).
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (if transport is required).
- Manual Handling and Infection Control training (desirable).
Work Environment
- Client's home, group homes, supported independent living settings, or community locations.
- Shift work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
