Calling all Support Workers

At Independence World we are passionate about being a company that supports all kinds of people, assisting them with a diverse range of activities – from personal care, shopping, gardening, cleaning, community access, and recreation.

Details:

  • Casual positions paid at above SCHADS Award rates
  • Flexible days / hours / shifts available with great emphasis on work/life balance
  • Our participants we support are throughout Cairns; from Gordonvale in the south, Palm Cove in the north, and throughout the Tablelands area
  • Easy roster management using ShiftCare system
  • Loads of free training available to further develop your skills and knowledge

Mandatory skills and qualifications:

  • Yellow Card (NDIS Screening Card)
  • Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates
  • Australian Drivers Licence (P1 minimum)
  • Reliable Vehicle with Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • Highly advantageous only - certifications in Community Services, Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Services or of similar relevance

About you:

  • You have experience, especially within the health, disability and/or aged care industry
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • You are friendly, personable and supportive to all
  • You want to work for someone who cares as much as you do
