About the role
The Junior project manager is responsible for supporting in the planning and overseeing projects, from the initial ideation through to completion. They assist in coordinate people and processes to deliver projects on time, within budget and with positive outcomes for our clients and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to grow and develop in this role into a full Project Manager.
Ideally, you're someone who… is a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. While not expected to have extensive experience, they should demonstrate a strong aptitude for managing tasks, coordinating people, and working under pressure. A successful candidate will be a quick learner with a positive attitude, a solid grasp of basic project management principles, and a genuine desire to grow into a full Project Manager, helping to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with positive outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Based at our headoffice in Newcastle and visiting our many projects across Australia and New Zealand
Hours/days
Ordinarily you will be expected to work Office hours at head office, Monday to Friday with occasional visits to site adhering to site operation times.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in coordinating all phases of assigned projects, from initiation to completion.
- Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and key milestones.
- Contribute to preparing project documentation, including tenders, contracts, and technical input.
- Help ensure compliance with project requirements, including safety, financial, and contractual obligations.
- Participate in preparing reports on project performance, budget status, and progress updates for stakeholders.
- Assist in procurement and subcontractor management, including research, evaluation, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with team members and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide general project administration support and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Manages smaller projects (up to 3M) from start to finish. A junior project manager takes full ownership of minor projects, from initial planning to final delivery. This includes defining the scope and managing resources to meet deadlines.
Experience and qualifications
• 1–2 years of experience in project management, ideally within the renewable energy or civil construction sector.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and project delivery.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work across multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint), experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
• A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Project Management
