The Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a Disability Support Worker at Anowah Community Living Ltd, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities by providing person-centered care and support. You will work closely with individuals, their families, and support networks to develop and implement support plans tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each person.
Client support activities may include but are not limited to:
- Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks.
- Support individuals in participating in community activities, social events, and recreational outings.
- Foster independence and skill development through coaching, encouragement, and positive reinforcement.
- Assist with the implementation of behaviour support plans and strategies to promote positive behaviour and communication.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of support provided, progress, and any incidents or concerns.
- Collaborate with other team members, including support coordinators, allied health professionals, and community services, to ensure a holistic approach to care and support.
- Our community houses are based at Horsley Park, Bossley Park and Carnes Hill
In addition, Anowah support workers:
- Participate in team meetings
- Undertake staff development and training activities organised by Anowah
- Align with Anowah's organisational values
- Are positive and supportive members of the Anowah team.
If this sounds like you, and you have:
- A minimum Certificate III in Disability or equivalent
- A current valid driver's licence (P1 or above)
- A current first aid certificate
- Full working rights within Australia
- A NDIS Workers Check (can be obtained at time of commencement)
